1. General Information
Zhang Aijun, male, born in March 1964, Yanggao County, Shanxi province. Professor, Ph D,Master supervisor of Northwest A&F University. Graduated from Wuhan Institute of Water Conservancy and Electricity Power (now Wuhan University) in 1985, major is Agricultrual water conservancy .Then got the job position in the reaserch room of materials and structures of Northwest Research Institute of Water Science ,Ministry of Water Conservancy, P R China; Got Master’s degree in 1993 ,from College of Mechanical Engineering in Shaanxi Province (now known as Xi'an University of Technology) , at the same time, woke at geotechnical laboratory of Northwest Research Institute of Water Science; in 2007 he graduated from the Xi'an University of technology, geotechnical engineering, Ph.D..
Currently£¬working as Professor in College of Water Resource and Architectural Engineering, Northwest A&F University, is the member of International soil mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering Association, Committee member of professional Committee of geotechnical engineering ,China Water Association, director of Shaanxi Engineering Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering Branch, China Civil Engineering Association ,executive director of Rock Mechanics and Engineering Society, Shaanxi Province, Committee member of Shaanxi Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering Association, Committee member of the Mechanics Association of Shaanxi Province, and Committee member of geocryology branch ,China Geographical Society.
2. Research Direction
Engaged in civil engineering, hydraulic engineering, and geotechnical teaching and research work for a long time, current research interests include:
Special unsaturated soil geotechnical engineering theory
Numerical and embankment dam seepage control technology.

Dam safety monitoring for undergraduate student
Geo-engineering for graduate student and postgraduate
Computing soil mechanics for graduate student and postgraduate
Sstructure Optimization Designing for graduate student and postgraduate
Safety monitoring theory and application of Hydraulic structures for graduate student and postgraduate
Currently six graduate students graduated , ten are still on studying.
4. Academic Achievements
Since 1990, long-term commitment to embankment dam seepage control technology and special unsaturated soils (Loess soil, Expansive soils) reaserch, as well as numerical analysis in geotechnical engineering and software development . Has done lots of test and numerical simulation on hydraulic engineering and tailings dam. In recent years, has a particular focus on non-saturated soils long-term mechanical behavior, and old dam’s disease development mechanism and life prediction, etc.
Achieved third grade prize of science and technology progress, Shaanxi province, and third grade prize of of Dayu of water science and technology, Ministry of Water Conservancy, obtain one National Invention patent. Hosting and participating research projects 40 items, include 2 National Natural Science Fund, 1 key laboratory Fund of Frozen Soil Engineering, 1subproject of the national high technology research and development plan “863 projects” , 1 innovation and transformation plan of "948" topic, Ministry of water conservancy, and, 1 key technological issues projects of national key hydropower engineering research projects . The main research topics are: National Natural Science Fund project "Engineering character of loess deterioration mechanism and structure service life prediction ", sub topic "Special soil anti-seepage new technology " of national high technology research and development plan "863" project "Modern pipeline , channels net, water-efficient technologies and products", the Ministry of water conservancy, "948" technological innovation and transformation plan project "special non-saturated soil deformation theory and channel engineering", Hongyanchi second generation Karasu Groove ash spoil dam technology research, Xinjiang Electripower Department, Lloess high slope stability study of South to North Water Transfer Project, Soil test and static and dynamic stability study of Zhangfeng Reservoir, Thematic study on fly ash of Shizuishan second power hydraulic fill dams, Ningxia, and so on. In recent years, more than 40 papers have been published, in which 12 articles have been quoted by EI. 3 books published as editor-in-Chief or co-editor. Major publications include:
